Default Do S2000 Seats Have Vin's?

Hey guys, I was wondering if the newer s2000 seats have VIN's on them? It would be a good way of ensuring that seats are not stolen before purchasing. I heard that they did have VIN's but I have not been able to confirm.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure, but that's a great idea.

Ok, thanks.

Basically, if the seller doesn't have the VIN of the s2000 the seats came from (either his car or his friends car, or an original seller's car), or a receipt from a dealer for new seats -- then they are stolen.

Thanks for the responses.

not necessarily. there are lots sold when S owners take out their factory seats for aftermarket. Secondly, there are a fair amount of seat trades that take place i.e. black for blue, black for tan, etc. You have to use your common sense and judgement of the situation to determine if they are stolen.

There are vins on the seats, but you'll only find them when your getting questioned about where the seats came from.

*cough cough* bullshit *cough cough*

im sure honda has contacted every police department in the country telling them where to find vin numbers on s2000 seats, and then each department schooling all their officers on it.

a few years ago i read a post where somebody replied saying "one of my freinds got pulled over with s2000 seats in his civic and the cop took a blade and cut open the bolster and ran the vin and they came back stolen"

cops do not have any super big secrets that the general public does not know, s2000 seats do not have vins

all cops do not know these types of things, cops at the impound yard might though. Once a car is determined stolen, or easily identified as having stolen parts, then it's up to these people to determine which other parts are legitamite or stolen. Thus the locations of hidden vins.

example. Take the integra for example. It has been on the #1 stolen charts in the US for how many consecutive years now? Honda then realized this and begin fighting back. Look at the Integra Type R. Every thieves dream car. How many hidden vins are located on it? Do you know of any? I sure do. Not because I'm a thief, but because it was used in court to determine which parts were stolen and how they figured it out, and that info leaked out into the public.

Also, after dismantling my 95 acord LX getting it ready for a paint job, I came across many hidden VIN #'s that I never knew existed. They are everywhere, but only there for the people who care to know. If you don't care to know then you would not find them. Go ahead and rip open your s2k seats to find a hidden vin #, it's your choice. I'm not saying that they are easy visable to the human eye, it could take a black light, or some special tool to even access this information, but I'm not going to go into detail. Believe it or not, everything is coded, from what you buy, what you do, hell right now even as you read this, someone somewhere is watching what you are doing. Scary isn't it? It's not safe, watch your back.

thanks
