Default Ran over a big rock

I ran over a good sized rock today driving down from Big Bear. There was oil leaking from the bottom of my car. I pulled over right away and had the car towed. Anyone have any idea what kind of damage that could have done to my car and how much it would cost to fix it.

I read somewhere where little rocks went through oilpan and stuff. If there was oil leak, you'll probably have to pay for something new to replace the old one with.

Most likely it's just the oil pan. Anything else will be $$$$$.

Hopefully its just the oil pan. The rock wasn't big enough to do any damage to my front bumper, but I hit it going around 30 mph. That rock actually took out another car 30 minutes before and I was sitting with them for a bit and they were nice enough to let me use their cell phone to call a tow truck and a friend to pick me up.

There were cars coming around the corner. It was pretty dangerous to step out into the highway.

Thats painful. I just got a call back from the shop and they said there was a 6 inch hole in my oil pan and a pretty big dent in my header. They just need to replace my oil pan header it seems.

My cell phone didn't have reception on that part of the mountain (I have AT&T btw).

What's so funny about running over a big rock? I cringed the first time I ran over a 2X4 (potential nails). But running over large objects is no joke.....they can wreak all kinds of havoc on a car like ours.
