My car wont start! Have no clue what it is? HELP!!!
I recently got my car tuned, everything was working fine! A few days latter, I tried to turn my car on at night, and it wouldn't start!
I have a 88 CRX w/ a B-series swap. I checked all my fuses, even the ones under the hood. When I get in my car, turn my ignition, my check engine light comes on and then turns off how it should. I can hear my feul pump working and stops after 2 seconds. My main relay clicks when it is sposed to (I even opened it up to check it and its fine!). When i turn my key all the way to try to turn it on, all I hear is my main relay click to turn on my feul pump and it works fine but nothing! I have no spark!
Could it be a bad alternator? What can I do to check it? Any sugestions?
Thanks for any help!
*** Wire on starter was disconected... lol
PLEASE CLOSE

if you've got no spark, check to make sure the timing belt hasn't snapped
then the easiest thing to try next is to swap in a known good distributor from another running vehicle
try those things and report back

oki, you have fuel, but no spark.
Yea the easiest thing is to "swap in a known good dizzy."
Or...
you can just go to store and buy a mulitimeter(voltmeter)
They are really cheap and very handy when working with electrical.
Get a manual and find out the specs for your engine.
**To get back to the dizzy(distributor), when you take off the distributor cover, there are 2 main posts that are visible. These posts are the primary and secondary windings in the COIL.
Take mulitmeter and test each of these posts.**
If one of them is out of specs, then your car wont start.
Thats the first thing i would do b4 lookin for a dizzy for your car.... saves $ too.
Other things you can check are the:
distributor rotor
ecM
spark plug wires (could be bad, but should still have some spark)\
Hope this helps out... let us know about your progress.

I bought a new distribotro (I needed to get a new one anyway) but still, nothing! what else could it be? doubt its the wires because it would still crank...

The spark plugs are new, less than 100 miles since they change and set them when tuning engine...
The starter does NOT turn and the motor does NOT turn either...
I have no idea wat else to check?

check the starter... smack it with a hammer or other heavy object... it might work or the starter might be toast... if it worked before and everything else works then its a starter problem, you will not have spark if the starter doesnt turn over the motor
If it was the starter, wouldnt it make a clicking sound when I turn the key? I tried smaking it with a hammer, before and while turning the key, how hard am I suposed to hit on it?
try push starting it. If your starter isn't turning check to see if your battery is low. A lot of times a bad starter will shoot out the shaft but will not turn. Or if your battery is low it may not have enough juice to turn your starter. Is your starter grounded? BTW it doesn't really matter if your plugs are fairly new, it they are fouled they are fouled. What spark plugs are you using? Are you using colder plugs? Anywho good luck

it actually works. smacking starters on some car works if the starter is dying out.

if the starter makes a clicking sound, check the grounds, jump the battery.

he's right it does actually work, alot of times the bindex (the wheel with teeth that shoots out and turns the flywheel) in the starter will stick and by tapping it, it might release...

get AZ to check the bat first. then get a test light and test the starter. ground light and touch big wire on starter. if it lights then test the small wire while someone is turning the key. if both light the test light you need a new starter. if no light, tell me and we can go farther

go read a repair manual and come back and try again. I'm a certified mechanic. I know wtf I'm talking about, you however are apparently retard blind or cant read, he already said the battery is good.
I think I know how to fix your problem though, take a hammer or large heavy object and smack yourself in the head...
To the OP, how about an update? Working yet? if not give us a run down of everything you have checked and or tried.
