It's ok.

It's kinda silly, but it's not going to hurt the car or anything.

People pointing and laughing might bruise your self-esteem, but other than that carry on...

or excited to do something to his car that although doesn't do much in terms of improving performance, bottom line is that it will. Some people like the look of an after market exhaust vs the OEM exhaust

in addition, some after market exhaust are lighter than the OEM version...

to the OP: there is no difference in changing the exhaust on a manual vs autotragic

Yeah do it man, it's ok to install it on an auto. Just remember if you want anyone to hear it, you'll have to floor it so the car wouldn't shift til it gets to 6k or over. If you are just cruising around, nobody will hear it since the car will shift way before anyone can hear anything.

There is nothing wrong with an automatic car with aftermarket parts to it just different.

I agree, nothing wrong with modding an auto....

By definition I'd have to say this is "rice" as my neighbor floors his auto Civic in a small quiet neighborhood street. Not impressed as everyone in my neighborhood would agree no one cares to hear his exhaust.

im sorry if I offended anyone I wasn't trying to be mean. it's just hard to take an auto civic with performance parts serious. not that auto's are bad , Honda makes a great auto tranny. but if one want performance they should start with a manual tranny. JMO! I had a 98 cx auto with I/H/E it ran good but it was still an auto and the manual trans in the same car moved it along better. I got the car at a great price drove it for 2 years and sold it. I even made money on it. opinion's are like... well you know, everybody has one. who cares what other people think it's your car do with it what you want.

You're not going to see much performance gain at all, especially because of the cat/header design on the R18, but it will sound good and feel a bit more responsive.

If you want a full exhaust, get catback. If you only want a short bit of piping and a new muffler (just changes the sound and look), get axleback.

My recommendation is look for an exhaust system that is fully stainless steel (no rusting through like the stock system over time, and looks good) and has a silencer somewhere in the piping along with the muffler (a silencer is like a small muffler, just a tube with perforations and wool packing to help deaden the sound). It will sound much deeper instead of raspy and yucky like most cheap ricer exhausts.

< Auto Accord. I gave up on it after high school but no sense not having fun when you're young, eh?
