Default THIS SUX!!!!!!

monday, i decided to go visit my fathers grave at the local veterans cemetary. so i am drivin alongthe highway at about 70 or so in the slow lane. then all of the sudden i feel a THUD on the floor pan which is proceeded by a loud metallic scrapin sound, then followed by the smell of raw fuel. i pull over as quickly as i can to the right shoulder, get out and find that i am dumpin a full tank of 93 octane on the ground. a piece of hollow steel tubing around 18 inches long somehow was deflected under my EJ2 and puntured the gas tank.....this is the result!!!!

P.S.- luckily no sparks occured...if they did i would not be posting this right now!!!

You could have died if that gas/gas vapor hit the exhaust system or lots of sparks, you're on lucky guy!

Sucks man .

Just a little FYI, that couldn't have killed you, even if it sparked.

Dumping a bucket of raw fuel on a match would drown it, not ignite it, gasoline itself will drown a fire much like water, it's the gasoline vapors that are explosive. Since it was in the bottom portion of the tank even if it did spark it would just be depressed by the liquid gasoline, at that point there wouldn't be any vapor flow yet, unless it stayed in there continuously sparking (which is kind of hard to happen).

Just a lil FYI, but good to know u didn't blow up 'n all - Sucks that that happened man, just be happy it's not that hard to change compared to some other cars, y'kno?
