New crx carpet and floor mats?
Anyone got a good source for new crx carpet and floor mats? Since I'm replacing everything else in my interior I might as well do this too
Well I found some carpet and floor mats but they aren't OEM.

OEM carpet is $270 from http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com which seems pretty pricey

For carpet, try http://www.accmats.com Custom colors available, I purchased Torch Red from them for my CRX....
For custom CRX floormats, try http://www.roadworksauto.com
I had set up a floormat production with them a few years ago...they aren't OEM but still are nice and thick and cover a larger area. Also, they can be made with a CRX embroidered logo on them

This is one place for a carpet, you can buy it complete kit or just the passenger area.... http://www.1aauto.com/
A little more expensive but look nice http://www.automotivecarpet.com/ they also sell factory style floor mats.
Actually Oem floormats are easy to find....I see blue and black on ebay all the time
All you have to do is search for them http://www.google.com/

Update:
I just called RoadWorks and spoke with Fred. Talk about friendly and helpful!
He remembered the CRX group buy and said anyone can still call them up and order these mats.
Mention that you're part of the CRX forum group, and he'll knock ten bucks off the price. ($97 shipped).
I placed my order today and will be receiving them in 1.5 weeks.
They're going to also sponsor crxpo ( http://www.norcalcrx.org/crxpo.html ) by donating a brand new set of floor mats like the ones I just ordered. So if you attend crxpo, you can win this set! Brand new!
Hey Eric, thanks a lot for posting this info. I'm gonna CC you via email since you wanted to order a set too.

My carpet came factory black, but over the years i guess its turned greyish and dicolored.
I found some fabric spray paint from walmart for 4bucks. It says its for interior, carpet, plastic, etc. Comes in tan, black, gloss black.
So i bought one can of the gloss black and took out my seats, cleaned everything real good and started spraying.
I really wish i could show before and after pics because it made my car look new.
Really does beat buying new carpet and taking the car apart to install it.
I sprayed some febreeze in my car to make it smell good too
. Just thought id share my .02.

occasionally i see floor mats on ebay for the crx.. sometimes you will run across new honda floor mats... but i noticed they are always blue...
Here's the next question in this thread...
Does anyone know where to get an entire new carpet? I got a 90 CRX SI, and I'm looking at cleaning it up inside. The floor matas are shot, so I'm making an order for those... but the carpet underneath (black) is getting a little worn/greyed.
Any ideas?

Yup!
Roadworks Auto carries the exact fit replacement for your CRX, and you can choose the stock replacement color, or customize it to your liking.

Just go to a local auto interior shop. I had a local place order brand new molded carpet sets front and rear for my 91 Si. Almost any color I wanted and about $200.00 including shipping when all was said and done.
I bought it at wal-mart. Its made by Dupli-Color, the name is vinyl & fabric color.
Use on:
Upholstery/ Carpet/ Door Panels/ Seat Trim/ Dashboards and more.
It kinda sounds stupid to spray paint your carpet, but it makes a world of difference! Doesnt make it stiff either, my friends thought i just bought new carpet!
Definitely

Bad news: I just got an email from Fred at Roadworks Auto.
They can no longer include the "H" Honda logo in their floormats. I was afraid this would happen, but it's not a huge deal to me. The quality and appearance of the mats are the things that sold me. Still, it would have been nice to have the "H".
Here's a copy of the email I rec'd from them:
"... I am afraid I have just been informed of some bad news for our CRX
project. Honda has informed our production manager that anything that Honda
owns, as far as names, logos, trademarked words, etc. is now untoucheable.
The Honda logo we designed is illegal to put on the mats. honda has informed
us that any use of their logos, or trademarked names, will result in legal
action...the "H" is not permitted in any way."
So, if any of you have placed an order with them recently, I suggest you contact fred (fred@roadworksauto.com) and find out if your order is on hold due to the above issue.

Thick is the key word for those mats. I had to take off the pedal cover for my clutch, because the back of the bolt kept catching on the mat, and got too annoying. Then I got tired of the mats, and bought a set of diamond-cut aluminum ones from Legend 5.
As far as the entire carpet, as someone suggested, a local shop will be able to get you exactly what you want. I ended up having them install it for cheap, as I couldn't get the door sill to look stock on my own (I'm all thumbs

Not trying to sound like a smart-aleck here, but what if you just tried shaving that pedal cover bolt down a bit, say by using a Dremel, would that have solved the problem?
Thanks for the heads-up. I've got some aftermarket pedal covers so I imagine I'll do the Dremel trick in a few days
Thanks

I wasn't thinking, I was pissy about it interfering, and had an extra rubber cover. Obviously, you're right - I'm sure that I could have gotten it to work correctly, but what I went through seemed a good measuring post for how thick the suckers are. Thanks for pointing out my lack of patience!

Hee hee, and I thought *I was the only impatient person here.
....My neighbors are now used to hearing me yelling and throwing things from my garage when I'm working on my car
I once threw this tiny plastic flashlight across the road at 2 in the morning. Stupid bolt wouldn't come off.

I ended up just getting the black mats because Honda won't let me have the "H" logo or the word "CRX" unless it has my name or something else in front of it
Stupid honda being legal again...
