With the security of my car, I would rather not risk the device not working or malfunctioning.

LoJack has a good reputation, no reason to doubt them.

personal experience using that device? i don't have any either.. however the following 2 would trouble me from getting that device:

1. tech support - who do you call?? no service fees is great but.. if something isn't working its good to have tech support on site to activate it and troubleshoot it..
2. what i really don't like about it is.. its not live data, it collects points every X amount of time or travel for you to retrieve later via usb. not very usefull if you car get stolen, only chances of finding your car then would be to bring your laptop with bluetooth technology and hope you can drive by somebody's garage

in simple words, ok for tracking daily movements, worthless for car security

omg, Its not even a real time unit. you have to get the unit back and hook it up to your computer to find out were its been. So you have to wait till the theif is done with the car, dump it. And hope that it was left in a bummper or dash. If the theif did not take them. Then get there info.

Get something real. Security cost. Don't short cut yourself and come up short. I seen it happen to many times, And I don't think it will every stop till you become a victim. Here read up
