Wobble and lack of performance - CRX
Alright so here's the deal now. I'm driving WOP and at 55mph (give or take) the car shakes violently then reaching about 80mph it smooths out as if I broke the speed of sound haha. Then the car will be smooth on deceleration until I hit even a minor bump then it'll shake again.
Suspension is a progress coilover kit with oem control arms. stock crossmember and sway bars. spoon upper strut bars.
ALSO VTEC doesn't seem to be "poppin'" like usual. It has like a lag and sounds like it's struggling to breathe. It sometimes works and will jerk around like a damn idiot going in and out of VTEC. I have an OBD-1 B16 with PR3 ECU and Spoon vtec controller. Somebody MUST know how to help me. I hate that I can't diagnose both these problems...
WOP? WOT? wide open throttle?
anyway, vibrations around 60-70mph is typically a wheel balance issue. so you should check your tires if they are balanced or not. also have them check if they are out of round, flat spotted or have blisters.
that may be the cause of the problem, however the car should not shake violently. that amount of play is due to play in your suspension probably.
put your car on jackstands, and shake the wheels. at 3 and 9 o clock and 6 and 12 positions. this is not just a wheel bearing test, although commonly misunderstood as one. if there is any play, locate it at the balljoints by placing your hand over it and continue to shake. then take off the wheel and grab the knuckle itself and shake again. shake the tie rods and steering rack too.
honestly, im pretty sure the steering rack end bushing needs to be changed too. its so crucial to a solid feel of the suspension. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1117870
other things to check for is a cracked subframe, or loose bolts. its actually pretty common to have a cracked subframe with a swapped engine. look at the engine mounts. and look carefully. might explain too the difference in feel of the engine. tho i think that might just be an engine thing.

haha yeah i meant WOT it's fitting since I'm 100% italian that i'd write wop...
I have rebuilt my steering rack, I'm sure it's the tires as they are fairly shitty blizzaks. I appreciate the help though I'll check all that tonight.
