back of car looks dropped.BUT ITS NOT! *pic inside* shocks blown????
here is a pic of the back of my car
i thought it was very odd how low it looked in the back
i do have a 12 in sub but i took it out to see if that was making it low like this but it seemed that nothing happend with the sub out maybe a few millimeters if not anything at all.
does this mean my rear shocks are blown?
ive posted about it before but i dont know how to tell if they are or not
i can hear them squeek and creek when going over bumps or up my driveway and the ride is super stiff and feels like crap. i feel everything on the road and if i hit a bump everything makes a bang.
what do you think??
thanks for your opinions

in my opinion its not low enough..lols to be honest doesnt look low, what kind of shocks do you have and what kind of springs?
I would say its your stock springs, if you cut them..cuz after you cut them, the top of the stock springs isnt completely flat, and its diggin into the rubber donut that is under the top hat..and making it squeak..it could be possible that the spring could have moved, and that may have made the car lower..but its not certain.
ive just seen pictures of peoples stock suspension looken way higher.
and the drivers side rear wheel gap is a lot less than the passengers side rear wheel gap.
so obviously something is wrong
i was hoping they were blown thats why my ride is so crappy.
cuz eventually im gettin a koni/gc setup. but im saving up for a gsr swap first. id rather be able to fast than to look good sittin low.

looks about same height to me, or stock height. since you feel everything on the road hows your alignment, if your alignment(like how mines was) your gonna feel everything like i did..not sure about your suspension tho looks perfectly stock..
well i didnt have it aligned?
i dont know much about that alls i know is its not like my car turns a certain way if i let go of the steering wheel. i know my aunts cars alignement was messed up her steering wheel was to the side and her car was going strait. so i think that my alignment is fine?

um to be honest not sure at all..maybe your shocks are going bad, but i would say if you know anybody else with a completely stock suspension civic, i would take the rear shocks and springs, and put on your car, and see if it stays the same height, or it lifts up your car a bit..if it stays the same, 1) both you and your friends shocks are going bad or 2) your car was meant to be that height and you neva notice.. but thats how i would go just to make sure
If i were you just cut the springs, make your car handle better, not necessary for ride comfort, but your not getting that now, or invest now in a suspension set up or get cheap springs and put those on..lols
haha well not sure, i got mixed reviews about those..i had cut springs on my crx and it wasnt bouncy, i had drop springs on my bro's EK hatch wasnet bouncy either, both car's shocks were blown, my friends has Tokico shocks, with coilovers BOUNCY AS F**K..lols shocks are not blown..and its like being a roller coaster ride..lols your choice.
umm... what tire size are you running...
could be that the tires you are running are larger than oem...
oem on a DX are 175/70-13
a plus 1 would be a 185/60-14
or 195/50-15
or 205/40-16
etc..
just check on tire rack or something....

blown shocks wont lower your car...but old saggy springs will. My hatch was a commuter car that only saw a driver with no passengers and after 13 years sagged about a half inch on the drivers side. Its a 13+ year old car...are you expecting the original parts to be perfect?
My car looked just like that (hight wise) the front sat up higher then the back. All I did was put an h22 in lol. I am just going to say this DON'T cut your springs. Just buy some dropsprings or even better stiffer springs to help with body roll.
my springs (stock) are way saggy lol my car sags to the drivers side but wtf do you expect for 12 year old springs.
i'd check your tire size. cuz your hatch looks about where mine sits with saggy *** springs. and i have two 12" subs in the back of mine
that other picture has the little 13 wheels on it yours "look" like 14 or larger

YOU ******* IDIOT!
Don't EVER recommend that someone cut their springs to handle better.

First dont listen to any of the 07 morons in here.
Your suspension is old, saggy and worn out after 13+ years. Replace it you will be much happier with the car.
I would get suspension before a motor swap, a good handling civic even with the stock D series can be a blast to drive. A poor, ill handling fast car is not fun to drive nor is it safe.
Buy your self a G/C koni setup you will be happy you did
