hey ht..the other day my civic started to kick back early.i use to redline around 8700rpm but it started to redline at 5800.it doesnt do it all the time sometimes it does it regular at 8700(i took it that high to see if it still was giving me that problem).i dunno what could be the problem...also the car idles at 1500-2000rpm.its a 92 civic with a b16a swap with a jrsc.thanks for any info.

 

maybe you shouldnt over rev it if it isnt built.

did you throw a CEL, sounds like it might be in limp mode.

or a if the CEL is on could me a knock sensor. If the knock sensor went out then it wont let it into vtec.. and would stop it from going over the 5500 mark
