Default zex kit d15b7???

im wanting to do a head swap to my d15b7 - im planing on using a y8 head and head gasket. i think that will put me right at 10:1 compression. after that im planing on doing a zex 75 wet kit. would this compression be to high for the nitrous?

thanks

I thought it would put you closer to mid 10's (around 10.5), but I don't feel like looking it up.

It shouldn't be too high on a 75 shot, though make sure that thing is dyno tuned, b/c you'll be stressing the internals pretty damn good (I would go with a 50 for terms of keeping the engine together).

maybe i should just look into some after market rods... what would you suggest>? because in wanting the 75 shot. and it will be dyno tuned for sure. even though everone will laugh at my single stick set up at the dyno lol. it will be great. ill be happy with it as my everyday driver.

Currently the only manufacturer of aftermarket rods for a USDM d15 is Crower, and they cost $700+

If you want to get forged internals, D16 is where it's at. TT rods are only $220.

It'll hold. Believe me. 125 Dry shot all day. Just make sure you gap plugs properly and your fuel system is healthy. Retard timing depending on the shot and you should be good to go.

holy **** man! $700 thats insane! lol that defeats the purpose of playing with d-motors. i guess ill keep an eye out for a 1.6block of some kind and hope the 1.5 last till then.

I had a crx si with a 65shot and it snapped a rod. Timing was set to stock and I had colder plugs and it lasted about 20 sprays at 65hp and before that it was proably 35 at 50hp. Motor was all stock except i/h/e with 130000 miles on it. But on the other hand it was good for a 8.98 in the 1/8mile on drag radials with only a 2.2 60ft. If your gonna go for it I would say get a GOOD clutch, I have a oem exedy replacement and it slips hard between gears. I got video's if you wanna see them. SOHC power!

This is the a6's final run you can see it smoke good and everyone goes oooooohhhhhhhh. Also I was doing 2 burnouts because I didnt have a ebrake but its now fixed and the car has a d16z6 out of a 95 del sol. I havent hooked up the zex kit to it yet but na it got a 9.68 in the 1/8 also with a 2.2 60 ft. I'm getting forged rods and vitara pistons this winter and then its time for a 75 shot until I go turbo.

Listen to that clutch slip!
