Default What does it take to run 13's?

I just got my 06 RSX Type-S about a month ago... I already ordered a RevHard Turbo exhaust manifold for it, because I'm gonna start piecing a kit together slowly over the next 4-6 months.

HOWEVER... in the mean-time:
What would it take to make my car a mid 13-sec car? how about low 13 sec car?

In other words (without boost or Nitrous), what could I do NA to make my car run those numbers... I need a fixin for more power; she's fun but I want more. lol.

Thanks!

yeah, because I'm sure my car as it is is capable of running low to mid 13's... Why don't you please re-read what I wrote in my original post.

Try searching... There are many threads that are already made that will help you in your quest. The right selection of aftermarket bolt ons and tuning coupled with a good driver will yeild results that you are looking for. Also look for motor mounts, esmm, or a tourqe dampner and also some suspension mods to avoid any wheel hop off the line. Good luck!

Get CAI, Exahust, Header, and cams ... After that get the hondata kpro kit and tune it. Dont get the hondata until you have the bolt ons cause you will just need to re tune later on if you want the most out of it.

You can't wait 4-6 months? lol.

Why would you waste money on parts that might or might not benefit you when you do put a turbo kit on your car?

i seriously was about to say this...
why waste money on trying to be fast N/A when you are going turbo? You could of put all that money to use for your turbo setup. On top of that you wont be using majority of the stuff you buy so you'll end up losing money trying to resell it. Just save up and put all the money towards your turbo setup. Suck it up and be slow.. that's what i'm doing.

13's stock is not happening since our cars run a high 14 stock with a good driver.

umm yeah, i too have never seen a stock type-s run 13s no mater how good of a driver is behind the wheel, especially on the stock p.o.s. tires.

and if you are going to turbo charge the motor, i would not do too much N/A as it is the reverse of what you need for turbo apps. why waste money on a header, when your buying the revhard mani? why waste $$$ on a CAI when you'll have to fab one up for the turbo?

my advice is to just be patient. i did the same thing bro. i have a 02 type-s and also the revhard cast mani attatched to a precision sc3255 t3/t4 turbo, tial 38mm waste gate, custom 3" down pipe etc.... and it was well worth the wait. with a dyno tuned k-pro on 8psi i run into the low 13s all day spinning tires up till 4th. on 10psi she runs high 12s if i launch in 2nd gear.

so do it right and peice it all together and do it all at once, youll be happier, trust me.

so you just got your car? i dont think you will hit no low 13's on a bone stock motor, go k-pro, I/H/E maybe some new cams and i bet you'll be close, as long as you shift higher than 4grand like some people do lol

If you're boosting it in the near future, don't build it NA in the meantime. That doesn't make sense.

when i mean stock i mean absolutely no modification done to it what so ever. NOTHING! If he has an SRI or CAI header or any bolt on that is not stock. Maybe stock motor but not stock and he has a CAI and DCRH. that is not stock.

If your waiting on a turbo I would just wait for that. But CAI and Exahust would be good for now and benifit you later.

why waist money on that when you go turbo, need 3" exhaust and have no use for the cai and catback exhaust?

cai/exhaust/header or RH= waist of money if going turbo. Could of used all that money you spent on the exhaust and or cai towards turbo setup.. Be slow now, be faster later.

Do you have an entirely stock block or any dyno numbers? Also, how do you like your exhaust manifold, I'm curious b/c you are running the exact same setup that I will probably be running. I already have the RevHard manifold in the mail coming to me, a 38mm Tial, and I was thinking about that as one of my turbo choices.

Thanks!

What power numbers are you looking for? From people running the rev-hard I hear no complaints. A member on crsx is making 605whp on a T67 with that mani.

i also said one of many this was the first a came to, im not gona waste my time searching this when this is widely known the bottom line if you have a rsx type s or a 06-07 si you can hit 13s bone stock. given a good launch and shifts, if ppl dont know this by now then they need to pick a book up and hit the strip more
