Default diff. crank and rods

i'm getting a different crank because i had a spun bearing on mine. can i put on my rods without worrying about which place on the crank it goes. the reason for this is because my rods are not being reconditioned. btw this is for a b16

the clearance is definitely going to be checked. i was asking because, i was taught that if u rebuild an motor, the rods haves to go on the same place that it was taken off the crankshaft. And, if you recondition the rods, it doesn't matter. any inputs??
