Default Ok yeah nood question but I am new to car moding.

What am I looking at when I look for rims. I mean I know what size I want, but I don't know offsets, hub bore, or bolt pattern. Could someone briefly explain it and what I am looking for for my 1994 teg. I'm looking for some good 16in.

1st, what is a nood? that reminds me of a magazine your not supposed to look at. 2nd, if you go to the wheel/tire forum that would be a good place to start. the search button is also a good place to start. https://honda-tech.com/zeroforum/56 and https://honda-tech.com/zerosearch these should help to get you going. type in "wheel size"

Yeah that doesn't help. There are threads about how to paint rims, polish lips, clean rims, where to find, what kinda, bla bla bla. I don't need any of that. Just explined to me what I am looking at when I pull a rim up on my computer and it tells me the facts about it. I.e. Bolt pattern, hub bore, and offset. Just a few things, this thread can be moved onto the junkyard if someone would answer. But if everyone just replies saying "click the search button" it's just gonna keep getting bumped with no point. So just answer, it's not a hard question to leave a little insight on. Explain to me one thing, instead of all 3, take a 3rd of the time I am asking instead of being a **** and saying "search button's up there." If I could find it like that wouldn't I just a search it on google.

Google works great as well.

This was the first page on google when I searched "rim offset".

....count them closely....and next time don't be a "nood" with an "attitude"

4x100 lug pattern,+40 offset,56.16(not positve don't flame) hub bore is about standard for tegs,16inx7in. or whatever size you desire. The wider you go the more positive the offset the narrower you go the less offset you want. All depends.

HT is the last place I would ask for wheel advice.

Anything bigger than 15's is a damn sin and low offset is +30.

Ha ha.

You still failed to asnwer my question. duh 4x100 means 4 bolts. I can count that, but whats the 100? I've watched people post here and everyone gives everyone **** if they dont know EVERYTHING about cars. I am a noob, but I'm not taking any of your stupid ****. I asked a question, an answer would be respectful, anything else is pointless and your just trying to be the funny man. So funny man, could you finish answering the question you were gonna answer?

4x100 means 4 lugs, that are (i think) 100 mm apart. i dont know if thats from the edge or the center. but thats what it means.

like 4x114 would have the studs a little further apart.

for offset, i dont know anything about that.

and dont get anything bigger than a 16" diameter wheel. there are a few people who can pull off 17's, but dont try it.

(edit)

and as for the flaming, get used to it. this is honda tech! (proofread your posts)

I gave you a link to your question. You must have overlooked it. What is the point of everyone helping you if you can not help yourself?

And I didn't reply to you because you tried to help. I click that link and get

I tried.

So that means if I get a rim with a bolt pattern of 4x114 and my integra is 4x100 then I have just wasted my money on those rims? Am I right? I'd figure that wouldnt match up.

So what I ASSUME about offset is that it's how wide your rims are compared to a stock width. Now I am dropping my teg, Ive done my research and I know what I plan on getting. Skunk2 coilover set, adjustable 1 to 3 inches. Im taking her down like 2.7 ALMOST 3. My car has 17 in rims now. They came on the car from the first owner. I plan on going down to 16 in and I need to do that before I drop her. Plus I have the cash now so I wanna get my wheels done with. There in lies my problem. I want to slam her. My manager told me I need to watch out with the offset if Im going to drop her that low. I mean I could ask my manager, he's been playing with cars and your little JDM toys his whole life seeing as how he's actually japanese. I'm helping him with his 240 and learning through that. Once I get my coilovers and everything he is going to teach me to install them. I could ask him, but that's pretty unprofessional and I've yet to meet him outside work to work on my car.

So bolt pattern I understand, I just need to know what my teg's stock bolt pattern is. Im sure I can find that, but Im also sure someone already knows off the top of their head. But I dare not ask anyone here who's stuck on their high horse. It's just stupid your too good to give someone advice on the same hobby your into.

There was a point in time where I was searching google for everything and my buddy said "hey log onto honda tech, they are all into the same **** we are, they could help I'm sure." So, in reality, i did search google for all my answers and it took me here. So stop being douches and help people who aren't as car sabby as you. Thank you to everyone who gave me information and thank you for the ones who tried. It seems I just don't understand hub bore. Do I need to worry about that with my rims? I mean. hub bore sounds like how deep the hub is. Which I wouldnt think effects whether some rims would work and some wouldnt.

integra (non-type r) is 4x100 spacing, 4x114 will not fit because the holes will not match up

when dropping the car don't forget to get a camber kit

there is a very good explaination of this in the wheels forum FAQ
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1188922
please read that, it will answer most of your questions
seriously, read it, there is an FAQ at the top of most sections here, they will have the basic info you need faster than a 'know it all' can make fun of you

No need for a camber kit if you don't drop your car excessively. Just get an alignment.

Well whats excessively? I'm looking no lower then 3 in but very close.

Oh, and again, thanks to all who helped. To those who I described in the second post. The "search buttons there" ones. Yeah.

In the FAQs I found...
"Please refrain from attacking people for not using the search feature, as you never know what discussion may arise from the new thread. This may be appropriate in some cases, but if all you can contribute to a thread is "do a search" DO NOT POST AT ALL. Try and be helpful to one another...if its a redundant post, then post a link to the answer or report it to us."

Mmmmmmm. And I think these thread speaks for itself after reading "as you never know what discussion may arise from the new thread." I, and possibly someone else learned something new about camber kits. Lets see where this wild page turning thread ends up next!

man....your post said "nood question". I was hoping to see some nood women pics or something. False advertising FTL.

anyway, your stock size and offset is 15X6 with a +45 offset.

A 15x7 +40 offset would work very nicely and look pretty flush. You could dip into the high 30s, but most cheap aftermarket honda wheels come at either a 7'' width and a +45, 40, or 35 offset.

The 40 would probably be your best bet. That's what most rotas are.

I want my spokes flush with the outside rim. NO DISH. I want a higher offset am I right?

So a 7in with a +35 and a 6in with a +40 might have the spokes in the same spot in comparisson to eachother. But 2 7in, one with +35 the other with +40. The +40 will have the spokes closes to the OUTSIDE of the rim... yes?

Well, the spokes pushing in and out of the rim is a design thing. I used to have 17X10 +12 wheels with hardly any lip on my S13. The same wheel design could be designed with a HUGE lip. It all depends on spoke design.

The rule to go buy is that a HIGHER offset will leave less room for a lip. It will also pull the tire into the fender.

A LOWER offset will leave more room for a lip. It will push the wheel towards the outside of the fender.

A 15x7 +40 should be flush (depending on your drop and tires) with 205/50/15 tires. Falken Azenis or tires like that which are actually wider than the size they say on the sidewall will make it more flush. You really should'nt have rubbing problems either way, though.....as long as you dont use a camber kit to completely 0 out your camber or something.

No. Well with this LS I'm not doing much. Getting used to Acura, learning with it, in a few years I have my sites on a Type R. But for now the only suspension work I am doing are the coilovers. Maybe a brace if need be, but I doubt it.

So yeah, like my manager says, he's trying to stear me away from a +45 offset. He actually recommended as low at+38.

Thanks a lot man.

15X7 +38 shouldn't be too bad. It's only 2mm more agressive than the 40 that most 15x7 rotas come in.

Remember, for aluminum wheels, the width is measured from the inside of the bead lip to the inside of the other bead lip.

If you measure from outside to outside, subtract a 1/2 inch.
