sorry to burst your bubble but ive read a few threads about ebay racing seats and ppl say they are weak and if you lean back on them hard they crack or break, so i only heard bad things about ebay seats. were they like in the $200-350 dollar range? maybe you can post pics?

^ what this man said. at least OEM seats have time and money into the R&D... whereas eBay seats do not. i wouldn't sit in them with somebody else's ***, honestly... i would 10x rather be in an accident in some OEM Honda seats.

i think that was a really sweet thought on your mom's part though!

I have a buddy who runs those same seats (different color) in his IROC Camaro w/ 4pt harnesses and he loves them. They're actually rather comfy from what i remember of them. Just because they're Ebay doesn't make them automatically junk. I say try them out and see how you like them

id say use them to make your mom happy...no matter what she says...i doubt she would want to see you sell something she bought for you...i'm sure she looked for a pair of seats she thought looked good and that you would enjoy..just use them...if they brake...who cares...at least it made your mom happy for a while..and who knows..maybe you get a pair of quality seats from someone who obviously cares about you...love my mom..but she never got me crap for my car..

I agree. I'm sure it will hurt her feelings if you sell em. And from an experience stand point, I used to have those same seats....except they had an R-1 logo stitched on them. Comfy seats yes.....safe? NO. However, you can have a fabricator reinforce at least the backing for you.

The seats I had.....I took them apart and looked at em. They weren't what I would track them with....not even on a 1/4 strip. Though they looked nice......you're probably going to want to invest in a back plate and maybe even a bottom one for your ***

As far as those brackets are concerned....I'm pretty certain you're NOT going to be able to use them. You're going to want to re-use your stock seat brackets when installing those seats.

These sigs are hilarious

-Yea idk about those seats. I talked a friend out of getting those after I read how unsafe and easy they break. But, I would sport em anyways for atleast a little while if my mom bought them. Even if they are junk, you can also switch back to the oem ones.

To add more to what I posted to the OP, as long as you're NOT tracking the car....or even going down the 1/4 mile strip, those seats should be fine. But still, for at least the safety aspect of it....look into having it reinforced even for street driving purposes. Can never tell when an idiot not paying attention to the road is gonna meet up with you in the wrong way.

If nothing else, they make good chairs if you live in an apartment with no furniture

I've sat in both real JDM ITR Recaros and those fake seats. They both feel pretty comfy but I met a guy once at a car meet with a replica seat that was broken near the head region

just keep them just appreciate what your mom gave you.what if she checks your car and sees the oem seats and is expecting to see the seats she bought for you in the car and doesnt dont you think she will feel less appreciated plus what are you going to tell her i didnt like the seats so i sold them i think thats messed up if you sell them just try them if they break atleast you gave them a chance and wont make your mom feel bad.thats my opinion

I have one of the ebay seats in my da.It looks nice but the brackets are a (expletive).I used the weapon R bracket and I still had to do some cutting and welding for it to fit.It sits up a bit higher than the stock seat though.I've had it for about a year and no problems with it as far as safety goes.It does have a slight(very minor) shift to it when you brake hard because of how they made it with the sliders.

i would also rock em to make my mom happy. when i was little i started noticing how it kinda hurt her to see the clothes she bought me for christmas collecting dust in the closet with all the tags, i cant imagine how she would feel if she took the time to find some racing seats (nice looking ones btw) to just watch me sell them
