Default Factory alarm????

Hi i have tried to search for this and had no luck. so here goes. I have a 1998 acura integra Ls. it has a factory alarm but i dont have the key fob. the alarm is unplugged under the dash. if i plug it in the alarm goes off and i can not disarm it cause i dont have the remote. if i get a new remote will it work? and i dont have the stock stereo and a friend said i have to have that to make the alarm work right. is that true? any help would be great. thanks

Tom

P.S. sorry im a noob.

Looks like you can only disarm the alarm with the factory remote. If you get a new unit you should be able to program it to the unit, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Factory alarms are pretty much keyless entry, that's about it. If you're actually trying to protect your car, we have plenty of great information in this forum.
