side mirrors?
i just bought some side view mirrors off of ebay and i was wondring if anybody knows how to take the stock ones off.
this is the place i got them from

When you open the door there is little triangular peice on the inside right where the side view mirror connects. That piece should come off exposing the hardware fastening it to the door. My mirror was cliped and that peice was loose, and came off I saw hardware there, it should be exactly where you need to go.

Lol, that isn't gen 2 Civics, we're gen 8, then gen 7 01-05, gen 6 96-00, gen 5 92-95
ROFL gen 2 would fit on some thing built in the early 80's.
Gen 2 is the mirror design.
They're the same cheapie mirrors I had on my Accord when I started out making modifications. They're cool for a while, but they are cheap, they can leak, and the power mirror doesn't work as well as you'd like.

i understand that they are cheap but i didn't see any better ones. a besides gen2 is just part of there name. I've got them here and they came with a bracket(not pictured) that make them fit. I plan on using bondo and a peace of foam behind it to make it not leak. What I need to know is how to take off the side mirrors, so unless U have use full info i would appreciate u not bashing the mirrors i just bought.

I just told you, I had the same type of damn mirrors on my car, I'm giving you helpful advice so you don't screw something up. Right now I have loose wires in my door panels because I haven't bothered to hook my mirrors up again after I took the rice ones off and I had to cut them to splice the mirrors together. Then I had to splice the turn signal wiring to get the turn signals to work.
Now I have wires that I wish I never cut because I can't sell the damn car without it looking weird, OK?
If ANYONE can be that brutally honest to you, it's me, because I owned a pair. I'm not in Appearance/Cosmetic just whining about anything that isn't JDM.
With mirrors, there is that triangular piece of plastic that should just pop off the inside (held on by clips), do it gently. Then you should just have the exposed bolts you need.
The big thing, if you want power mirrors, is that you're going to have to splice the wires, and that means cutting them. You might have to take the door panel off to unhook the connector that will help the mirror off.
If you were local i'd help you but i'm just trying to warn you this can end up being more work than it will be worth.

CTR = Civic Type R
You could also use the side mirrors from an Acura CSX, which have a turn signals, but they would have to be wired properly to work with an Si.

i know you said u had the same ones on your car and I aprreciate the advice but first thing u do is laugh and make it seem like I just bought some mirrors that didn't go to my car. about the wires there wheresome sellers on ebay that said it was direct plug in, but it was a present so i didn't pick who they where bought thru. I might not install them just because of splicing i would have too do.

I wasn't even referring to you when I wrote that. I even quoted the person I was referring to. So I don't know why you're getting upset about it, I was laughing about the inconsistency.
If you look, and there's a connector at the end that is OEM style, you're in business. Otherwise you have some splicing to do, which will suck.
