timing belt loose!
hey. don't post too often but my timing belt is really really loose on my civic si (2k). is the tensioner on it automatic, or can i go i and manually adjust it. i have a shitty chiltons and it says nothing on the topic. it does have aftermarket cam gears on it. i need help fast! thanks in advance
loosen the tensioner, put pressure on the crank counter clockwise to put slack on the back of the belt( the side facing the firewall) then tighten the tensioner. don't make it too tight though. check the tension, then redline every gear......
redline every gear haha

yeah. didn't have time. the car is garaged anyways but i took a look at it and looks like i might have to lift the car and drop the mount on that side to get access to the lower timing belt cover. is there another way around it? anyways, i was thinking of pulling the motor anyways and would much rather do it then.

My lower timing belt cover has a small black rubber plug in it to access the 14mm tensioner bolt. might be a bitch to get at without removing the engine mount but thats only a block of wood, a jack and 3 bolts.
