Default Help With Jdm b16 swap!!! computer problems

First off happy holidays to everyone.

So I have a 98 civic ex with a swapped jdm b16 motor. Lsd and Jdm b16 computer. The swap was professionally installed and it runs great. The only problem is that when I hook up the jdm b16 computer, the car starts vibrating and idling like crazy and the check engine light comes on and the car smells as if its burning oil. When I hook my stock civic ex computer up, it runs nothing short of amazing. No check engine light, or vibration. What is the issue here?

Also my tires are rubbing pretty easily, the car is at stock height right now and when I turn they seem to rub the engine & tranny, if I'm not mistaken. I have no Idea why that happens either. Thanks in advance and any suggestions is appreciated.

If the ex ecu does amazing then leave the ex computer in it, if it throw no cel's that is, if it does just get a chipped p28 or chip yours. I think the reason it acts up may be b/c jdm ecu's have things that usdm car dont (even though its a jdm motor?), tcs, ect.

Yeah the only problem with using the civic ex ecu is that the redline is lower and the vtec engages at a different point. Basically the car runs similar to a d16, just a lil faster. Although I'm not really looking for speed. I would feel better with a b16 ecu. Maybe I will try a usdm ecu.

yeah, get a chipped p28, or give the usdm a try.

i had the same problem as yours. i have a jdm b16a sir2 swap and it came with jdm p30 ecu and that ecu made my car idle like **** and CEL. so i replaced it with a chipped p28 ecu. and problem solved.it runs smoother than ever. i have heard jdm ecu sucks with jdm engine swapped into usdm hondas

it probably just needs the knock sensor hooked up properly

Plug in your jdm ecu and check the codes
