Rear Main Seal Cover Issue
Not sure where to put this question but since it's for my turbo project I'll start here. I finally got the motor back from the builder and just installed it back in the CRX. Started it up and everything runs great. Well just about after 15 min at idle, I hear something pinging at the tranny case. WTF. I was glad to find that it was just one of the bolts that secure the rear main seal cover to the block. As you can see from the picture it is the upper most bolt near the loom. I'm sure the builder had put enough Honda Bond on there so I just need to know if there could be any potential problems by having a missing bolt there besides a potential leak? The other four bolts seemed secured from what my wrench could reach. I really don't want to take the tranny off again just to reinstall that bolt. So If I can get away with it for now that would save me some time. Just have to keep an eye out for leakage there. I was a bit disappointed to find this error by the builder but I'm hoping this was the only bolt that was overlooked.
Here's the pic (from another HT member) it is the top bolt near the loom that had fallen off. Click to enlarge

Here's some engine pics. Aiming for 350whp

pulling a transmission off isn't hard.
Piece of mind...is priceless. Don't risk blowing a main seal on an expensive motor because you're lazy.

You're right . I'm just a bit frustrated because of a busy work schedule and time with the family just wont give me any more time to pull the tranny again. I was just hoping to get this project ready for tuning soon and this little mishap just sets it all back again.
how do you know the rest of the bolts are not loose?
chances are it wont leak.....but it another one or two of those bolts back off then you might be in trouble.

Lots of people only follow torque specs for the bigger stuff, and get the small bolts 'tight'. I like having diagrams showing every bolt on there w/specs, that way I go through it and put one cross through for 1st torque, then a 2nd for a final torque. IMO anything that may change due to other bolts tightening it further or gaskets drying deserve a later final torque. Thats probably what happened, that was the 1st bolt in the final (or only) torque sequence, and it somehow rattled loose.

I have a 10mm wrench that was long enough to reach the other 4 bolts. That loose bolt was harder to reach and the flywheel was in the way. I'm just gonna keep an eye on it for any leaks during the all-motor break in period. I'll just plan to pull the tranny off before I get ready to run boost on it again.
