Default I don't think I have enough room for my HIDS.. Do I need to remove parts to install them?

First off, please do not move this to lighting. I feel it's better suited here since my question involves installation and possibly moving of parts on a 92-00 Civic.

I have a 2000 Civic Si.

I just purchased my plug and play HID kit yesterday and it should be here in a couple of days.

Today, I popped my hood and checked the area behind my headlights to see if there was any room to install the bulbs and place the ballasts. I just realized that on the driver side there is a few things in the way. The windshield washer fluid, the reservior with the red top (brake fluid I think..?) and some other small things.

Is it common to remove these things before installing HIDS? Do you think I will be able to install them without removing these other parts?

Has anyone with a 99-00 Civic Si installed HIDS and maybe can point my in the right direction?

Also, they are supposedly full "plug and play". Do I just unplug the OEM wiring from my OEM headlights, then hook up the HID wiring (with the ballast in between) and then hook the other end up to the HID bulb? And how do you remove the OEM bulb from the housing? Do you just twist it, or should it come right off with a simple pull?

Sorry for all the questions, but I've never done this before.

Thanks.

That Red Thing is Power Steering fluid lol, And you don't have to remove anything. Your kit is really easy thats why its called plug and play lol, U will get the instructions that show how easy it is

Be careful with plug and play though, I've seen the bulbs melt the reflector in the headlight, thats why most people who go the HID route do retrofit with projectors.

Why not just retrofit some HIDs instead? Plug-n-Play kits can have bad glare.

I wanted to retro fit, but I don't have the time and money to do that the right way. So for now plug and play should work.

Is melting of the reflectors really common? I've never heard of it before.

eh I thought the same thing but if you look long enough you can find the parts for a retrofit cheap enough.

Reflectors melting isn't very common, but I have seen it and talked to people who have expierenced it.

You don't have to mount the ballasts directly behind the bulbs.

And the bulbs won't stick out any further than your stock bulbs. So the bulbs will go in like stock....and you can remote mount the ballasts someplace else. Most kits will give you enough lead with the wiring so you can mount them at least a foot away. Look into mounting them behind your grill or on your bumper support or some place like that.

^ I don't know if you want to mount them behind the bumper b/c you et a lot of flying rocks and crap that can come up there and potentially damage the ballasts. I actually mounted mine between the fender and the sheet metal of the engine bay.

Mount your ballasts inside your fenders, you dont even have to take them off. there should be existing holes on either side that you can use with a bolt, nut and washer. I also used a few zip ties just in case the bolt rattles out. i managed to mount mine without removing the fenders, you should be able to.

I ran the wiring through the holes by the corners, and through the front of the car where the hood latch is so you cant see any of the wires, it looks completely OEM.
