Default Intake/Exhaust Options for a 1998 Accord V6 4-Door?

Hey guys

Sorry I don't know much about what's available/out there; I'm actually asking for a friend. He's got a '98 Accord V6 4-Door that he'd like to get a little more kick out of. He was thinking of going w/ an intake and a catback, and wasn't sure if going w/ a full exhaust upgrade would be worthwhile too. Important points are...

- Will pass emissions
- Sounds good (not crazy loud & annoying)
- Reasonable price (nothing expensive)
- Prefer bolt-on

Any suggestions? I've heard ditch the resonators & keep the stock mufflers, and I've also heard the exact opposite lol. A little help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

headers and AXLE BACK exhaust, anything else on the exhaust will result in a significant drop in low to mid range torque.

CAI or short ram intake

I suggest Short Ram intake with a K&N filter, or AEM Dryflow filter. Cold Air intakes result in less top end power & often have problems with getting water into your engine.

Megan Racing, Injen, Apexi, GReddy, are all great brands for exhaust.
I recommend a catback, and if you really want extra gain and performance, headers and a downpipe are great additions.

Thanks... I think the options he's looking at right now are:

- AEM Short Ram intake with either a K&N filter or an AEM Dryflow filter (prob. the Dryflow, since most kits come w/ it anyway)

- Magnaflow Rear Exhaust System, HKS Sport Exhaust or Apexi WS2 Exhaust System (Dual L/R)

Any comments/suggestions?

Thanks!

AEM short ram, XS Power headers, UR Crank pulley, and HKS Axle backs.

I have/had all but Headers. Im waiting for boost for the header.

The HKS are pretty quiet and sound AWESOME!

Im currently running the Greddy EVO2 for SS since I live in the snow belt but my gaskets cant hold up.

it also improves horsepower, depending on the setup will determine how much of an increase but you see more numbers on the horsepower side. not much now, just a difference.

never get MEGAN racing headers!
