Default Need Opinion on Harbor Frieght Gas Mig Welder

ITEM 55525-0VGA
$149.99
110 AMP, 220 VOLT FLUX AND MIG WELDER

Ok It says it takes aluminum wire... does that mean it does infact weld aluminum?? has anyone honestly had any experience with this machine?

I really want to be able to weld aluminum... Money is an issue so keep that in mind... I dont care for pretty welds... i just want solid welds. Im pretty sure this machine can weld steel just fine because ive used cheaper Harbor frieght migs and they worked suprisingly well when you used licoln or miller wire. but my concern is with aluminum... i want to be able to weld aluminum... ill probably never need to weld anything thicker than 1/8th thick... so does anyone know if this machine can infact weld aluminum and also how well it can do it?

ya you can mig aluminum, but you have to use straight argon, and aluminum wire.

harbor freight duty cycles are SOOO damn short usally 10% so i doubt you can do anything serious. not to mention they don't penetrate deep. i have the flux core sister to this i bought for $88 seriously haha i just use it to tack **** while im configuring crap LOL
