No need for apologies. Just calm down and take a look at the bigger picture.
Can you justify spending $5000 on a car?
You may think that a motor swap might only cost $2000, but it goes much deeper. What if you run into problems? Blow the motor? Etc.
At 19 i know how it feels. I was in the same boat you are in myself a few years ago. I was excited and ready to go to. But I had to pull myself back to reality and realize that this hobby though being one of the cheaper car venues is still VERY expensive. It takes a lot of dedication not only in time but in money as well.

And not to mention that you live in CA. If this is your DD an LSVtec swap should not be considered. You will not pass BAR ref with that motor setup and will always have to pay for a smog "hookup".
