im looking to get that deep dish look when i get some cash to get new wheels....someone please help me out! thanx

yeah i have seen them in about every honda tuning magazine. they are on the page with the widebody supra and the ep civic. im 99% sure thats the same set. they look pretty badass!

loll i gotta ?.....whats the difference in offsets..? i kno it has something to do with where the hub sits on the wheel...but i was looking at the different offsets on the sportmax page and i dont kno which wheels would fit my car...i have a 93 civic ex coupe...

+40 to +45 should be good.

 

They look good on pretty much anything.

A wheel wish a dish like that is DEFINATELY not a +40 to +45. A +45 is the stock offset on GSR/SI/ITR wheels IIRC.

Those wheels on the DA are probably very very low offsets. I have a friend that has the exact setup...i totally forgot what offset he's running. I think it's like 16X8 + some single digit #.

I think that looks a little cliche....but that's just my opinion.

It's hard to explain without pics.

Imagine this, though:

If a wheel is 8 inches wide..and the hub mounting plate sits exactly 4 inches inside the wheel, it is a 0 offset wheel. Centerline is 0.

If you move the hub mounting plate from the centerline towards the FRONT side of the wheel, you go positive.

If you move the hub mounting plate from the centerline towards the BACKSIDE of the wheel, you start going negative

The smaller the offset number, the more the wheel will push out of the fender. The measurements are in millimeters. A wheel with a +6 offset, by example has the hub mounting plate moved 6mm towards the front from centerline.

OEM 15'' aluminum wheels on civics/integras are 15x6 +45 IIRC.

BTW, the width of aluminum wheels is measured from the inside of the bead. So if you do measure from the outside of the bead to the outside of the other bead, you take off .5''.

The general rule of thumb is that if you measure 6.5'' with a caliper tool from the outside of the back bead to the outside of the front bead, the actual rim measurement as per standards is 6''. You take off a half inch if you measure with a caliper tool from the OUTSIDE of one bead to the OUTSIDE of the other bead.

If you ran those wheels on a DA, it requires the use of a TON of negative camber, and you have to crush your fender lip and roll your fenders a little bit. You will need to use camber kits, I think. I dont know if the natural camber curve is that agressive.

 

yeah those models come in either +40 or +15 only 16x7 15x7, aint that bad pretty cheap also for that VIP look.. :D plenty on ebay... and yes u need camber kits and ur fenders rolled... unless u want inside camber and tires cut from the fenders... +35' and up should be fine, it'll look flush..

Do you know the owner or just find the pics online? Sweet ride although I would be too nervous to drive a car that low and with that little (no) wheel gap. Didnt realize from the original pic that the car is rhd either!

i mean, i dont want the tires stickin out a shitload cuz i still wanna be dropped....but i want that hugeeeee dish...i think it comes in 1.5in and 3.5in, i def want the 3.5 in!! :-) is this possible?

Well obviously the wheels on the DA are very low offsets. I said +40 - +45 because that would be less issues with fitment.

You have to have a low offset for a huge dish.

IMO, a FWD car really isnt meant for a dish. Neither are some RWD cars, but I digress. A FWD car with a deep *** dish looks artificial. It doesn't quite pull it off. You know how you go to a party and there's a chick with really small ***** there...but she's wearing a shirt with a ton of "cleavage" and a push up bra for her mosquito bites. She's wasting her time. She should just push her other assets. Same concept with FWD cars and wheel lips. It looks stupid IMO.

 

People don't realize the work it takes to get a flush setup like the DA pictured. There are offests to consider, tire sizes, fender pulling/rolling, and negative camber to be dialed in. For most of you Honda guys, this is WAY over your head and it will most likely end up looking like a funking lowrider. If you aren't able to tuck those wheels then the effect is lost.

you really can't just SAY u want that size lip, like the others said it depends on the offset and by u saying a 1.5 and a 3.5 im pretty sure the +15 is the 3.5 and the +40 is the 1.5 etc.. you can try looking up more rims, like i said find sumthin a lil higher mid 30's and up they'll be flush plus on MOST you wont need camber kits. heres mines on +35 offset enkei rpo1's
they rub on the back since the backs are 205/50's i bought these off an miata/autox guy so dont complain on the size but they run smooth and look fine and last but if u want deep dish rims it'll be harder to find and not much companys make them hope you find what you need .
