In a nutshell.
CL - two door coupe
TL - sports sedan
RL - more of a "luxury" ride
CL and TL also come in "S" versions which have beefier suspension (sportier) and have more horepower.

CL = FWD exctint.........ie they don't make it anymore
TL = FWD
RL = AWD and is one awesomely built machine
TL and CL are mechanically identical for the same model years and besides the minor cosmetic changes if you got in one it is the same as the other from a driver's point of view.

horepower FTW!
The CL was actually just the two door version of the TL and both came in a Type-S as mentioned above. RL is Acura's flagship model.

ALL of honda's 98+ V6 cars have tranny issues up to about 2005 for certain models
Ridgeline
Oddessy
Accord
TL
CL
Some of the F series cars have them as well from 98-02
The K series cars seem to be just fine as do the 03+ I4 accords
