Default Z6 or jdm D15b. ( help!)

I know that this is a broad topic but I need some quick help.

I am wondering what would be the easiest / most reliable build. Im looking into buying a 92-95 EX 4 Door. I was wondering if building a spare Z6 or building a jdm d15 would best to make a RELIABLE 300whp.

I know a block guard, new sleeves, valve train, rods, pistons, etc will be in the near future. I want to build this the right way. Then turbo it after its fully built.

I was just wondering which would be the easiest / reliable build.

Z6 or JDM D15?

-TIA

I've always perferred the Z6 because its just easier to get parts for. I know you can get all the stuff for a D15 too, but I hate searching to find out what parts work with it.

z6 would be best, and the easiest.

But, a lot of people have done vitara builds with a d15b usin z6 rods and vitara pistons, with a stock headgasket, and no clearance issues, so the choice is yours.

there basically the same motor.. ones is just jdm and the other usdm.

99% of the parts ar interchangable

It would be a flip of a coin.. lol GL

yea..

But in all reality the parts are interchangable. To find true d15b vtec parts is going to be hard but if you had a d15b vtec you could swap just about any part from a z6 and it would work just fine

The only real differences between the d15b and the z6 are......

The pistons have the wrist pin located in a different spot

The water pump and the t-belt, use vx vtec-e ones

and the d15b uses a 1.5 block,

Several people have used a d15b to build and several have gone past 300whp with no problems.

I believe the trouble with the d15b may be over once this kit is done. FJT solves the deck height trouble with a shorter rod and vitara combo. Good read.
