knock sensor problem

Default knock sensor problem

ok i have a 97 civic cx with a 99-00 b16a2 complete change over my harness was made by hook-ups now known as whitfield racing. here is my problem i was driving my car going 120 mph one night the next morning it threw code 23 which is knock but my motor is not knocking. so i thought it was a bad knock so i changed it but it still throws the same code so i got a new dizzy and still samething but the motor some what backfires but just a lil im running a 98 spec itr computer

I would suggest grabbing a multimeter and checking the wiring.

Does your engine sound healthy?

ok i ran the wire direct and still code 23 what the hell the motor sounds real good right before code 23 it takes about 2 minutes to go on

Do you have access to the ecu for that motor? Im thinking some had a problem like this before, and a bunch of people said get the right ecu, do the itr's have diff. ignition table than b16a2 ecu's anyone?

Check for shorts on the knock sensor wiring and while your at it inspect the connectors.

Check the pinout on the ecu...pretty sure its not the same as stock so it would have had to been moved..make sure its pushed all the way in on the clip at the ecu because ive had them pop out on me and would work sometimes and other times they wouldnt!!
