Question Do you still sand down body to put primer on?

Default Question Do you still sand down body to put primer on?

Can i just throw it on or do i still have to sand it down? and what grit do i get?


im 100% noob when it comes to body work

u must sand first so the primer or paint has something to grab to or it will just peel rite off.

Yep, always sand with the appropriate grit prior to applying primer.

why are you priming? the only reason you need to prime is if you have exposed filler. if you're priming that it's sanded already. but you do need to take 180 grit on a DA and sand out all the hand sanding 180 marks around the filler. after the 180, use some 320 and go a few inches around your 180 DA marks so the primer has something to land on.
