Must just be me. I had a great deal of difficulty getting the stuff to quit "hazing" on my windows.
I cleaned them thouroghly with windex first.
Applied the Rain-X per the directions.
But the stuff left a very visible "film" that stayed on there for a couple of days before dissipating.
I thought I had applied tooo much. So I tried it again a few months later, same story.
Any suggestions?

WOTTEG I have the exact same problem as you. Tried putting in on in the shade on a cold day as well and no luck. Inside or out of the car it just leaves streaks and doesn't seem to do anything. WTF!?

What helps a little with the haze, is to wipe the windows with a damp cloth after applying the Rain-X.

i applied it to my HB windows last year and still have'nt had a chance to see if it even works(i live in L.A., no rain in two years), but the fog-x worked well the other nite
I borrowed some from my friend and it works great. However, for the price of a small bottle, I didn't think it was worth it. After you use your wipers a few times, it pretty much disappears.
rain-x is
!
i can relate to the hazing, tho i haven't experienced any excessive amount to the point that it is really hard to see thru. i usually wash then scrape off the window with a razor blade to make sure no tiny particles are still on the surface. apply the rain-x to a paper towel then apply. as long as u cover the area once, it should be good for a while.
when i'm on the freeway, neva have to use the wipers. at low speeds, gotta turn it on once in a while. the cleaning agents in your wiper fluid will help to remove some of the rain-x over time. if u're like me and don't ever use the fluid, it will last quite a few months.
besides the hazing, the other drawback i've heard of is from people who live in colder climates. near freezing temps could cause the rain-x to turn whitish and hards to a certain extent. in that case, it's very apparent and is extremely hard remove.
hope that helps.

I
Rain-X. I apply it after every carwash or after a day's rain to keep it fresh. I NEVER use my wipers anymore.
The key is to apply a LARGE amount...you'll get haze, but to minimize that you can use a rough terry cloth and make uniform up-and-down motions. The haze left behind rarely bothers me.
