2002 Accord EX ULEV - Trasmission
Hello....
I am having some issues when I am going up on a hill. Even if I try to use my gas paddle, car does not change the gear automatically, it does not speed up, just the RPM goes beyond 5000.
The traffic behind me is upset because my car does not pick up the speed. I am thinking it's transmission issue. Has anyone seen this before?
Thanks in advance.

How steep of a hill? Well Honda has used the grade logic tranny in their transmission. So it shifts to 3rd gear automatically. And holds it there to prevent the tranny from shifting up and down, up and down. etc.... This is why your RPM may seem to be high. What's the speed limit?
I'm not sure how to fix this.... Maybe removing some unnecessary weight? Tire pressure properly inflated. A/C off. and when was the last time you changed your tranny fluid. I'm guessing these are the few things you can do to your car to keep up.
Compare your car to other Accords and Camry's when you're going up that hill. Of course you can't compare to FR cars; BMW, Mercedes, and some higher end cars. Or even to SUV's, as most of them have 4WD.
