Synching CB550F carbs
Up until I had to get into the carb synch thing, I was doing incredible on this bike. now I'm just screwed. whatever IDIOT designed these carbs, didnt do a good job building them, considering there is no carb that is supposed to be your "zero" pressure carb to start from, and you need a little flathead and 8mm wrench to set the freakin things.
how do you guys do this stuff? any tips? no the shop isnt an option (keep in mind I'm still in high school, and can barely afford GAS let alone parts.)
I borrowed a manometer from a friend to synch the carbs, and had them fairly well dialed in, until I tried to tighten down the freakin locknuts. during the process of which, I learned one of my carbs has a sticky float that just LOVES to spew gas out through my airbox if I leave the fuel tap on.

So what is question? Do you have a shop manual?
Took me about 10 minutes to sync the carbs on my CB400F with a gauge. You have to be patient.

get someone experienced to look at them. there is a point of no return if you get them too far out of whack (well it gets exponentially harder to get them back adjusted anyway).
even if it means towing to a shop.

I got em back in synch. I do it the easier way. pull the whole st of carbs off, clean em and synch while they're off. the technique I use is complicated, so dont ask.
I WILL NEVER go to a shop. not in florida. I know all the ones in my area, what they charge, and I cant afford that. I'm lucky to afford gas.

You can bench sync the carbs off the bike, but you really ought to sync them on the bike, running - it will make a big difference in how smooth the engine runs.
