who has a cage with a full interior??
hey i need a cage for my hatch and have been searching for hours, who has a more than 4 point cage with a full interior?? pics would be great as of now i am thinkin art morrison, or show some of these pics to the machine shop in town that does stock car cages, thanks a lot. i am 6'4'' so i need the hoop sit as far back as possible. some one was telling me about side bars that clip in and out so when you daily drive it, or if your a fat *** like me its easier to get in and out any info pics are great thanks
P.s. i know alot of people don't agree with a cage and d.d. but i want to be able to race at the track and no racy with no cage.

I'm starting a cage right now in my sedan.... removeable door bars can be done with either a bolt and nut or a bumper pin, but also alot of sanctioning bodies won't allow them either.
The only thing you have to make sure of is DONT MAKE A HALO IF YOUR EVER DRIVING THE CAR WITHOUT A HELMET. gaurenteed way to split your skull is on a cage infront of you w/ no helmet on. Just use some roll bar padding for the back and door bars, they make padding in sfi approved forms so you shouldn't have an issue at the track or on the street
.
And I'm 6'7", so I know a thing or two about squeezing into places

you havent searched the subject, have you? i know ive personally posted pictures in at least 5 threads exactly like this one.
which track is making you have a cage to race? i remember reading you were shooting for 400-500hp with your build. but NHRA states "a full roll cage is required in any vehicle running 9.99 seconds or quicker, and any vehicle running 135 mph or faster (regardless of e.t.)."

have you taken the car to the track yet? if your car runs 9s.... i'm sure you know good fab guys and have read the rulebook.
i wouldnt worry about it just yet. take the car to the track and see what it does, if you get kicked out, you get kicked out..... then make a thread.

i have changed my gaols to 600 on a mustang dyno. the reason i am asking about it i that we are in the process of redoing my interior and i want to just do it all at once no tear it back apart again later. another part of the deal with the mrs. is that if i make it this fast i make it safer no matter what the rules say. i have searched and i have had a hard time finding pics with a full interior. thank you for the link to nhra rule book. as of right now i am leaning towards an art morrison cage, with the swing out side bars so my fat *** can get in and out when d.d. it any pics would be great still

Are you from HAI too? I have a bolt in 4 point harness bar with full interior. It can be extended to 6 or 8 point too while retaining the interior
You can kinda see it here.

^^ that bar does not look like it would pass tech in any sanctioned event.

Ive seen an autopower 6 point in an EK with full interior. It was their bolt in cage though. The front 2 mounts were shaped around the dash and it had removeable door bars, and it cleared the headliner. You could mock their cage and improve it to your needs. I wouldn't recommend using the bolt in cage nor is it legal in most sanctioning bodies.

Yeah, that's what I'm wondering... an NHRA cage can be quite a bit different from a NASA/SCCA cage. Either way, it seems to be more of a pain than it's worth to keep the interior with a cage. Another racer wanted to do it, so we gave it a try, but ended up just ripping out the interior anyway because it was such a pain.
