I've never really liked that car. I always thought it was ugly. But the performance might make up for that?

Man, and they drove that thing in the snow. Man, that guy is brave for doing it in a half a million dollar car.

Absolutly horrible pictures, haha.
Im not a huge fan of the looks of it, especially at that pricetag.

For half a mil...I could think of some other things.

And to think with the pricetag ... at least they could've designed more appealing wheels (i dont care if they're functional .. they can be functional AND look good).

BTW the car is pretty ugly as well.

I've always liked the cheaper (relatively speaking) SL65; looks much better.

Truely the ultimate car to own if you're a rich, die-hard Mercedes fan. Otherwise, there's other cars out there for me. The inconveniences of owning such a car just really make this thing a garage queen.

When I was working at Mercedes before the release of these things (and they were being pre-reserve sold-out), they were refabbing a special "SLR" garage in the complex with especially smooth cement, perfectly level, and a super high-quality double-sided lift that needed to be perfectly aligned at all times. Do you know why? The Carbon fiber nature of the frame is sooooo delicate, that if the floor or relative alignment to the lift is but a few (1-3) millimeters off on one side, the frame will crack, and the car will be ruined. Not a chance I would like to take with any car that I own, especially such an investment.

All practicality aside, this car looks really nice, probably rides very well, and most likely will throw you back in your seat. Unfortunately you can get all that without the super delicate frame with the SL65.

SLR:
MSRP- $497,750
Power- 617 hp 575 lb-ft torque

SL65:
MSRP- $186,000
Power- 604 hp 738 lb-ft torque
