Default Forgot to lube release bearing shaft........

I rebuilt my engine and put it back in my car. Then right before I am about to start it I realized that I forgot to lube the release bearing shaft.

Is there any way to lube this shaft without taking the whole car apart?
And how important is it to lube? Thanks

Did you clean the grease off those spots. If not you should be okay.

If you got most of the grease off when you wiped it, I'd pull the trans and grease it. Might be able to get creative with a grease gun with long flexible nossle, light, mirror, and a friend to work the clutch pedal.

Just spent the last 3 hours trying to get at the area you can't even see it let alone get some tools into it. How important is it that that area is lubed?

Your T/O bearing won't last as long and you could possibly damage the mainshaft.

In those 3 hours you could've had the trans off, greased it, and put it all back together.

do you mean the nose the bearing rides on?
if so then yes you absolutely have to lube that. that nose is part of the tranny housing and the bearing will wear a groove in the aluminum.

remove your flywheel cover, u'll be able to get it in there.. i did, but besides that i feel sorry for you, i put my tranny on myself.. took me 3 hours to pick it up, hold it and move it so that the splindles lined up correctly, was a bitch in deed.. but a great learning experince.. glhf with it.

You definately need to lube that bad boy. Use urea grease if you can get it.
