o geez, the k20 motor is so smooth u cant really hear it "kick", its around 5500rpm or w/e i dont remember the exact rpms. because the stock airbox is so restricted thats y u cant hear it as well. get a aftermarket intake and u can feel it kick in.

Gotta love the response from a first time RSX owner! Everyone says the same thing. Mod it and you will see... Have fun!

Where do people get the idea that the VTEC crossover is some kind of explosion of sound and power?

Done correctly, the cam xover should be silent and power should be linear.

Now, once you start modding, you will be able to hear the xover...but I wouldn't make it my goal to just have a loud transition.

Remove the air box & slap an autozone special air filter and you will hear the almighty VTEC ROOOOAR!

It's best to run no air filter at all. Just get a 3 inch tube an run it behind the front tire.

In your EP3, or are you talking about something else?

As for the rest...where the cam crosses over isn't even close to being the most powerful point in the RPM band. All the peak power comes about 1000-1500 RPMs later.

just wait till you experiance 6th gear V-tec. there is a legend of a man that once hit 6th gear v-tec and he broke all laws of physics and traveled through time. we are still waiting for him to return.

I know of a similar man. He drifted his auto corolla and traveled to the time of the dinos.
His legend can be found here on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2IWxqvsSY8

i dont really know happend to my a2 first it started to click then smoke then one of the pistons hit the head and i eventually spun a bearing. when i took it to the ACURA dealer they refused to fix it becaus it was lowered and they said that caused the problems then they told me it was really low on oil and that there were sighns of it leaking out and the check engine light or oil light never came on it was really quite a mystery and the dealer didnt want to fix it and i fought with them for like month. then this old tech guy comes over to me and says hes got a K20 long block with 20K miles on it that he doesent want and when i asked how much he said 3k and he would install it himself i said ok because i was tired of fighting with acura even tho i bought the 100,000K mile warranty and my car only had 80K on it. so about 4 days later i had the motor put in my car and he even threw in a new clutch. when i got the car back it was running kinda funny so i check some stuff around the engine bay and the block was stamped K20Z1! i was like hells yeah i got a damb good deal on this swap and i just loaded a Z1 map on my K-pro and things have never been better i really felt the differance. hmmmm turned into a longer post than i had expected
