Honda MTF Flush Update !
I recently hit 31k miles and i was def due for a tranny fluid flush ive been sitting around for a couple of months trying to decide which fluid to go with. I purchased 2 quarts of updated Honda mtf and flushed the tranny today with a fellow Si owner and freind. I instantly felt the difference in 3rd gear it goes in smooth every time now i was getting bad notchyness and lock outs since like 12k miles. It feels smoother in every gear now i was getting slight notchyness in reverse,1st,1st to 2cd its all gone now and the car just feels that much smoother as a whole. If any 1 is having the same issues put some new Honda stuff in before going after market i like it alot
PS - I have an 06 so i doubt the updated fluid was in there when i bought it also the tranny was slighty overfilled when we flushed it i put 2 quarts but i let the excess drip out before putting the bolt back on less then 2 quarts is needed according the the Honda manual.

Oh good. I was debating whether to use AMSOIL or the new Honda MTF. And you just helped make my decision.

I did the new Honda MTF flush and shifting is much better. I haven't had any issues with 3rd anymore. It still is bothersome that we are having this issue in the first place. The whine in 4th is still there
Otherwise the car is great so far!

The whine is normal, never going to go away.

what whine?
amsoil put in my fg2 for the last 13k and won't put anything but amsoil from here on out. tried royal purple but it was just as wack as the original MTF.

its all the same, just change it often.</TD></TR></TABLE>
speaking in MTF terms, i beg to differ.

I put my money on Honda! They not only engineer transmissions, they make them...Plus they have a lot more money than amsoil! Do you want a product that is meant for 70 different kinds of transmissions big and small, or do you want a fluid that is engineered for you specific trans? Amsoil =

The newest formula has a green label. I convinced the dealership to give me the MTF. We shouldn't have to change the fluid because the tranny doesn't feel right from the factory. I still think it's weird that they put in the wrong oil at the factory
but it's shifting good now so
