I think I got the wrong Toda header....
Hey everyone. Good news and bad news for the day. Good news, I got in my Toda header for my ITR today. wOOt wOOt!
But.....bad news....we went to install it at my local Acura dealership when it turned out that it didn't fit on the car!!
Two things just weren't lining up with it. One, we were able to get the outer two bolts that go from the header to the head in okay, but when we tried to put back in the other bolts, they were a few millimeters too high, which means they wouldn't go in at all. Second, the part where the colllector connects to the cat...it's connected by two bolts. The two bolts on the factory cat lay horizontal while the bolts on the Toda header layed at about a 45* angle. I'm assuming that I got the wrong header. I think I accidently got one for a B16A/B instead of a B18C, HOPEFULLY this is the case. Anyone think that's what happened or is that somehow the right one for my ITR? Another quick question...was the header supposed to come with new gaskets or am I supposed to use my factory ones? I'm going to give Leo a call tomorrow and hope he can straighten everything out for me. Thanks for your help. You guys frickin rule!!!

you have the right header.
the header should/will fit on the head of any b-series motor. try again.
jdm headers such as the toda come with a different collector.
the exit is bigger and the flange is wider.
it is not going to be a bolt-on installation unless you have a custom hi-flo cat like the one offered by SMSP.

u will need to either a) get a carsound/smsp cat or b) go to your local muffler shop and get a test pipe made. JDM headers such as toda is longer than your stock header so your stock cat is too long for the toda header
try it again after u get a shorter cat/pipe and everything should go on perfect
enjoy joo new toduhh powaahh

Ok...so I DID get the right header then. Boy, am I a moron!
Was that the reason why we couldn't get the bolts on the head to line up then, because the header is longer or what? Hopefully I'll be able to go back to the shop and get it put on this weekend. Thanks for the help Leo, you saved me a long distance call for tomorrow.

Actually, I should correct myself. My good friend that worked on my car is a mechanic at an Acura dealership. We just used their tools/lift to make the job easier. This was a "on the side" deal of sorts.
How long has he been a mechanic at the dealership??
1. He should of noticed the huge collector.
2. He should know that B-series heads have the same bolt pattern for the exhaust manifold.
3. All the flanges are made the same (I believe the todas are CNC also), so If your bolt holes are off, everyones is off.
4. The rear header bracket would need to swap to a JDM bracket (although I am not sure if the Toda header has the bolts for the bracket to attach to)
