Default Carbon Fiber shift ****?

Thinkin about coppin one and wanted to know if

- this seems legit
- does the guy actually mean 5 cm or is it a typo and
- what are the major differences (if any) from our stock FG2s???
- Does more weight = easier throws?
- Since carbon fiber weighs less, will the throws be harder/less fun?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/REAL-CARBON-FIBER-MANUAL-SHIFT-****-CIVIC-PRELUDE-CRX_W0QQitemZ280184575254QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item2 80184575254

Oh, and can anyone match or beat his price? I know this isn't the marketplace section of the site, but might as well kill two birds with one stone.

Thanks!

the stock is weighted like an S2000 ****. i like weighted ***** over lighter ****. You feel less resistence during shifts. if anything, i would pick up the round Type-R ****. Seems to fit the hand rather nice.

i believe the thread pitch is 10 x 1.5.

looks like those 3 black plastic tubes tap themselves as they are threaded onto the shifter.

Correct. I had a resin shift **** for about 2 months and would have kept using it had I not broken it. Light ***** require more effort but are more precise. Im running a **** that is 340 grams now and it is kinda nice to "throw" it from gate to gate but I miss my resin ****.

Awesome lookin *****! Either one will look tight on my NHBP, especially since they have the red accents to match my shift boot.

But i'm not so "hot" on the all metal for that very reason and, for now, its pretty damned cold in B'more (i know its FREEZING in the NORTH north) but its still gunna be a concern in freezing/burning temperatures. At least with the stock **** i can avoid the metal and just grab the leather center.

How are you guys fairing with the all metal *****? Do you just get used to em? Do you guys just have sensationless skin? I'm planning on getting the whip tinted in the spring/summer, does that really help all that much in those regards?

maybe i'll go with the weighted one, does anyone else find it physically hard to find 6th gear? I'm not a weak guy buy any means and don't need to post my bench press, unless asked, but i always say to myself (wow, how hard would this be for someone that weights like 120 pounds???)

no offense to you light weights, you guys are wirey. Those are the dangerous ones.

hmm, i've been thinking about getting a short-shifter. Could installing a heavier **** be considered a poor man's fix?

It helps. But a short shifter in conjunction with a heavier **** would be better.

short shifters actually shorten the length of the throw and not the length of the shifter itself. The way the circuit hero is drilled/threaded, it actually makes the total height of the shifter shorter.

but like RICO_ said, both would be best

And a valet driver should be shifting into 5th or 6th gear why?

I would never let someone valet park my car to begin with, but if i ever did I wouldn't expect them to be hoppig on the highway and shifting into 5th or 6th gear to go park my car.

no need for the sticker.

Because if they think your car is a 5 speed they will try to put it in 6th thinking its reverse. And why does everyone care, its my car and not yours.

True. I used to be a valet driver waaaay back in the day. I've seen that happen before with the morons I worked with stalling the car cause they thought the car was in reverse and didn't bother to look at the ****. It's more common than people think.
