opinions/thoughts on rockett brand fuel??
Superior fuel. As a chemist, I have tested the fuels qualitatively and viewed some great results:
Rockett Brand 118 advantages over C16:
Less dense: lower specific gravity, and more power due to burning characteristics, and improved atomization.
No aromatic hydrocarbons: Benzene is a known carcinogen and cheap way to increase anti knock properties.
No viscous coloring: ever look at your intake manifold runners and gaskets after running C16? So much for keeping fuel, and its additives, in suspension.
I have run that fuel for almost a decade. Remember 76 race fuel? Same stuff...Conoco Phillips acquired Unocal 76, and did away with the race fuel line, leaving the scientists and distribution without a home. The team decided to keep things going, and hence, formed Rockett Brand: same excellent quality, and formulations...different name.

Why is it that responses like this only come along a few times a year? We have some of the smartest drag racing minds in the world on this forum, and yet everyone prefers to keep their info under their collective hats. Big
Bisi for offering up some great insight!

I also heard on turbomustangs.com that Rocket is coming out with thier own pre mixed E85 combined with oxygenated 116-118 race fuel.
If so, it would be easier for me I because I dont want to drain out 8.50 gallons out of my 55 gallon E98 and add the 8.50 gallons of Q16 to get the mixture.
When I get some time I will look into it.
Correction, it is oxygenated.

What Bisi said!!!
I have used this fuel for years as well in my VW and the Toyota until we switched to Methanol. I also found it to work better in a N/A application than anything else I had used.

I can answer this on FOR Bisi ... It is because 99% of the time when you take the time to respond and give an educated opinion it ends up getting BBQ'ed by folks that do not have the same experience in that area of expertise.

Absolutely, I would recommend Rockett 118 over C16. I have run many boosted Supras on the dyno and track with impeccable comparison results!

I had not heard of this fuel until about a year ago when I was browsing through a Hot Rod magazine. I was reading about the street legal pump gas drags that they hold each year. Rockett was the brand of 93 octane they were using in each car if Im not mistaken.
Good info
Good info
Rockett 100 is readily available at most Gas City locations in the Chicago Area.
Pricing usually fluctuates between $5.49 to $6.09 a gallon.
Not much help to those living elsewhere...

I remember about 2 years ago they were selling Rockett 100 at Sheets Near Hagerstown Speedway for $5.00 a gallon...
