tein basic / tein ss
aside from adjustable dampers, anything different with them except the price?
Any major difference in ride quality for a daily driver/non tracker?
Is SS worth the extra few hundreds?

how about quality of the product and stiffness of the ride?
does anyone know what rate the basics are at compared to how hard or soft the ss are capable of going / best level for daily driving compared to basics.
im asking because everyone says basics are a crappy ride.
thanks

i had a set of the basics on my old DC and the ride is excellent. i dropped my car like 3 1/2" and it rode great and handled like a champ. i have no complaints. people probably say they r crap b/c they dont have dampening like the SS set-up. but they r a very very nice ride.
i just installed ss's on my dc just last month but never got to take it out to try it yet. oh yeah, the perches are all the way down w/ teins recommended dampening set at 10/8 clicks

this is my third integra all with different suspension setups and and i have the tein basic coilover setup and its way better then any tokico 5 way or tokico blue with any coilover setup you can pick, all b.s aside for the money go with the BASIC especially if theres not going to be any track
I just recently installed the Tein SS on my Integra. This was by far the best setup ive ever driven on. The hieght was dropped 2 1/2 front and 3 in rear. It road stiff as hell on the stock #9 damper setting, and overall it handled great on turns for auto-x. If i had to spent the $900 over again, i would.
i also installed skunk2 ucas in the front but im not sure if mine are hitting until i get to drive it. maybe someone will chime in on their experience about it hitting the shock tower

the basics are good for track use... major difference is the dampening adjustments... but overall, they're the same.. just a couple hundred dollars in the difference.

The experience is this: your UCA hits the shock tower, and it sucks It shouldn't happen, it is bad for both performance and the longevity of your upper balljoint. You should do what you can to prevent this from happening. That usually means raising the car up to a more reasonable height, even if that means losing the slammed look.

the basics are only for street use only period. They were never made for track use at all. The spring rates tein offers says it all. Even though you can get custom spring rates, i think there still not worth the buy. If your looking into the $650 range, i'd say your best bet would be FF2 Type II's, ksports, skunk2 pro-s, and GC/skunk2 coilovers paired with illuminas. You can always get the default rates they offer. If anything you can spend a little more and go with the famous GC/Koni setup.

Dude hands down the Tein Basics are really good for everyday street use they ride really smoth. I have a set of SS on my CRX and it was the best decision I made to switch to these. I previoulsy rocked the Koni's with GC's and had the functions...hands down the SS make my car not only drive better on the soft setting but handles like a champ once I dial up the EDFC.
I also have tein ss coilovers and would gladly spend the extra couple hundred for an adjustable setup if I were to do it over. I noticed the other day that my Blox upper control arms rub on the tower a bit as well, probably only on really huge bumps it appears. Not sure how I'm going to fix the problem yet.
i have yet to drive mine yet since i installed my teins ss, but i just heard stories about people hitting the strut towers.
and mine are all the way down in the front and have yet to install the rears
