You're question is a bit vauge. Do you mean in Japan?
The Si in Japan had the ZC, but you could by the SiR which had the B16A, I believe from 1988, when the EF based chasis started.
Of course if you're talking about the US, the first B16A was the 94 Del Sol VTEC model....
Correct me if I'm wrong!

Well I saw a few CRXs on ebay and saw that they had ZC engines in there Si. I thought Si had B16 engines not ZC. They were US CRXs with ZC engines. I saw a few like that.

Those were all motor swaps. Anything that wasn't a non-vtec SOHC motor was a "custom" swap.

on 88 the B16A1 engine was created and was applied to the 89-91 JDM Civic SiR for first time on early 89..... the 89-91 Civic SiR had the B16A1 with 160 hp and then between 91-92 they created a B16A2 with cable tranny and then B16A2 with hydro producing 170 hp, all this while the cable to hydro was being transformed....92-95 civics SiRII had the B16A2...the 4G SiR's were powered with the B16A1 engine, while the Si had the ZC engine , and the 25X(DX) had the "D16" engine... hope this helped ur questions.....peace

I lived in japan twice (92 & 98) and in 92 I saw a 1st gen integra with a b16, so that must've been an 86 or 87, and yes, it was a factory job, it had the dohc/vtec stickers on the doors and the rear window.

Difference was in the lower control arm. They flexed more, allowed more tow out when under load, more oversteer.

Americans didnt like the "twitchiness" so US cars got the revised ones.
