Looks like Pankl is primarily a Formula supplier but they are somehow also associated with CP Pistons. I am going to have to contact CP and see what they can tell me!

WOW after the experience i had with probe pistons and thier support, i wouldnt run them in my lawnmower.

myself and a close friend of mine both broke wrist pins on the probe pistons. i was 280 whp ls motor, friend was 394whp ls/v both cars professionaly tuned. this was back in late 04-early 05.

If the pins broke i either suspect you just had a rare dud or something wasn't set up right, either the spiro locks didn't set well or the rods were never measured or re-sized like they should have been on the small end before the install. You never run a rod out of the box, tolerances are anything but exact. The big end is even worse. As far as probe goes i've seen 600+hp Chevy LS1's with the same pistons going for many miles. 95% of the time if you have a piston fail you either were that one un-lucky guy or you have questionable machine work.

Cunningham makes nice rods, light and strong, but not exactly cheap.

I have 10xxx plus hard miles on my b16a with Probe forged pistons, hits 9500 rpm a few times a week never had an issue. Maybe they updated/fixed any issues they had?

Nice for FI, but they are bit heavy for a NA build.

I am using spark racing I-beam rods with 260 whp.
No problems, 90 dyno pulls, dozens of passes 9000 rpm.
Inexpensive also. around 325 dollars.

im lost.. we see people wanting the best rod.. the lightest rod.. but with a budget for eagle's or similar brand/price..

just get eagles, or similar brand in the 300-400 range..

lighter + stronger = costs alot more

Couldn't agree more. I just wouldn't buy eagles or anything that says eagle for that matter.

x2 "why not" ?

but yeah my point was, we see people wanting the best of the best, or the baddest set of rods, and but is willing to spend "standard" cost..

then just opt for off the shelf rods? lol
