Subwoofer not working. Help please.
Okay so my car is done being painted and I re install my amps.
I have two amps, one running the speakers and a seperate one running my subwoofer.
The amp that runs the speakers works but the subwoofer is not working.
I am not sure if the two input wires (red and black) are in the proper input/output.
The 12V red wire is correct, the little blue REM wire is in correct and the black ground wire is in correct.
The subwoofer is hooked up to the speaker wire.
What am I missing?? The amp is getting power but the sub is not playing. Have I forgotten something??

Your sure the amp is getting power right? Does a little LED come on or something? If not, check the + for 12V and make sure the ground is good. Obviously the remote lead should have +12V only with the ignition on. Assuming the amp is on, check your RCA's to make sure they are sending signal. Unplug a pair of RCA's that are currently in the amp running the front/rear speakers and replace it with the RCA you have going to your sub amp. If you get sound then your RCA's should be fine. The only other variable would be the wiring from the amp to the sub and the sub itself. Although unlikely, maybe one of the leads that connects to the sub has become lose from its connection in the box. If you can determine that all the connections are good then I would have to think the amp itself was bad. Every once in a while I test an amp that has a problem like your describing....the amp will get power and turn on, but no output. Once everything else has been eliminated you last measure would be to get a spare amp from somewhere and use all your existing hardware to hook it up. If you sub works then you know it is a defect in the amp itself.
Good luck.
Good luck.
