Hollowing a DX EK cat, can it be done on the car?
The cat is blown on my car so I'm planning on installing a regular universal cat downstream. However, I'd like to hollow the original one in case it's clogged.
Can this be done on the car? What worries me is the bend near the bottom... I don't know if I can get a tool in there to beat up the mesh. Also, does it take allot of force to break the honeycomb?
Thanks

That's not that big of a deal. OEM D-series exhaust manifolds are cheap, <$40 at a junkyard or from the marketplace. Any of them will bolt up fine and the only thing you have to worry about are your O2 sensors.
