You can re plug a y8 distrib to be obd1 or visversa they all have the same wires besically the sam distrib just diff plugs. If done it and the work the same 2 and its always good to use the same parts. Its not that hard to replug distributors or you can always dothe getto cut and splice

Y7 or Y8 distributor will work. Depin the connector and repin the OBD1 connectors on.

Assuming you stay stock bore, Y8 headgasket, no decking or milling, the pistons will be in the hole .0669" (A6 pistons). That will lower your compression to 8.8:1. A6 pistons are dished, B7 pistons are flat tops.

You can use your b7 dizzy, if you try using a z6 it won't bolt up the to y8 head, also i don't think the set up will run b/c i think the y8 dizzy has a crank position sensor in it. but not fully sure but i do know that the y8 dizzy will not run the mini-me.

also if you want to run high compression with pistions you should look into pm7 (zc) pistons...i think they still sell a kit on ebay wit the pistions and bearings and i think thrust washers
