Default Installing LS/B16 Quaife into GSR Tranny Questions

I know I need a 4.40 66-tooth ring gear from a B16, but what shaft do I need from the B16 to make it all work in the GSR Tranny? Do I need to use the B16's gears/syncros on that shaft or can I use the GSR? Do I use the GSR or B16 Diff Bearings? Any other thing I might possibly need? Any help is appreciated as my LS is not liking 585whp as its street tune, getting harder and harder to get in gear and is getting loose. Thanks.

all you need is the countershaft and ring gear from the b16, and use the gsr diff bearings. you can swap all the other gears from the gsr to the b16 shaft

when i installed my LS/B16 quaife LSD i used a B16 66 tooth ring gear and the original GSR pinion/main shaft in my gsr trans.

seems to be working fine.....no unusual noises/sounds.

The GSR mainshaft is still retained, its the countershaft that needs to be swappped, which spins the FD. If I am not mistaken, the gear patterns are reversed from B16 to GSR..... anybody confirm this?

Anybody know if the LS Countershaft will work? I saw they are different part numbers, but i have an LS in the car currently and I would have no problem using the LS 1st and 2nd if I had to.

ok whatever...... what about the shafts I asked about? I am just tying to cheap out I guess, I already have an LS and 2 GSR's, trying to cut some corners and not have to buy a B16 tranny.

you dont need a diffrent counter shaft.

all you need is the B16 66tooth ring gear.....that is all....

dude I think you are wrong, why would I need a diff ring gear and not the shaft that spins it? the tooth pattern is obviously different, so the shaft has to be different too.

the GSR trans and B16 trans both have a 4.40 ratio.

they both have 66 tooth ring gear
they both have 15 tooth pinion gear
66/15=4.4

the engines both spin counter clockwise......so why would the ring and pinion tooth pattern be cut the opposite direction?

I'm telling you......I PUT A B16 RING GEAR INTO MY GSR TRANNY WITH A B16/LS QUAIFE LSD.....

keep searching.....maybe you will find a different answer other than the correct one.
