Default Column keyhole light

I know a bunch of you got this piece, but do any of you have it wired up? Im trying to do it now an been so for a day and cant get it to function right. Everytime I tap into the exsisting dome wire, I cut my light output in half. Any help would really be appreciated.

My guess would be you are trying to wire the additional light in series, thus the half light output. You need to feed the added light with the 'hot' lead to the dome light and provide a dedicated ground to it also.

Just to be clear, are you talking about the optional column light from Japan?

If so, these pics might help people know what you're working with then.

Thats the one. Im so close, just having slight problem wth keyhole light. It comes on when I open the door, and the relay shuts it down like it should. Problem is, if I close the door after getting in the car, the light will go off regardless of the relay.

I'd actually really like the measurements and such of one of these in the event of making a LHD version. I always thought that'd be cool.
