I have a ZC with a ZEX kit right now im running a 55 shot ! runs great no problems my best time with the 55 shot is 15.2 im wondering if I retard 4 deg and up my fuel pressure! would you do it! ho hi is the risk ill blow it? please let me know if you think I should do this! thanks just want to see what my best time would e with a 75 shot! thanks

 

I have seen it done. I think if your motor is in good shape and you get adequate fuel and timing retard it should be ok. That is a good bit to spray on a stock ZC tho.

let's see....75 shot on a zc. ah yes. my friend phil. last week he shattered some exhaust valves, disintegrated a spark plug, scoured up his cylinder walls, and has melted metal all over his exhaust ports. this was with an aftermarket mustang fuel pump, b+m pressure regulator and guage, and a lot of timing retard. you were saying?

 

i've seen them hold togather very well, and i've seen them go on the first shot...guess it depends in your motor....get a bigger pump, and run prelude injectors, or something close to them...

 

Well, considering your times with the 55 shot, I would get that motor checked out. Doesnt seem like a very strong ZC. I wouldn't bump it up to a 75. Try to get your times down with the 55 first. Dont just try to compensate for poor driving or a bad motor by uping the shot.

i ran a shitty 15.5 in my ZC with only a custom 2.25" exhaust on it. i had like a 2.4 60' b/c of wheel spin. you should be running in the mid 14s i would think.

check out the car and/or learn to drive it better.

it will take a 75 shot no problem, although i would do a compression test first, cause you 1/4 times well............they suck , and if you do blow it up you can always buy another for $300.

 

This is also true. Might not be a bad thing to have to rebuild the bottom end or head. Or has he said, a whole new motor.

 

my friend had a 75 shot on a ZC motor on street tires he went 13.9...i was AMAZED!!! it still runs strong so i guess he got a GOOD motor! but wih i/h/e too
