Default 00' fog lights on a 97 bumper... (civic)

So first and foremost this is my first post on honda-tech but I've been trolling for a while now. I used to have a DB1 before, blew the engine on the teg and decided to part it out. I was on G2IC and found a link from there to here. Anywho I have an ej8 now and I really like the 00 fog lights and I was wondering if anyone before had tried to cut holes on the 98 bumper to fit those fog lights. I know I could buy the necessary parts for a 00 conversion, but I'd rather not here's some pics of my car....

So whats your deal? I didn't see a single question mark in your whole post. You want to put 99 fogs in a 96-98 bumper? then try it and tell us how it goes.

Well I wasn't asking if it was possible because I'm sure it's possible. I was asking if anyone had done this before and either share their experience and maybe see some pictures.

Yeah..It just won't look right no matter what. The reason you like the 99-00 fogs is because they look clean on the 99-00 front ends. Either settle for the 96-98 fogs or do a front end conversion (which really isnt all that bad)

I really don't want to do the conversion becasue it'll be so much more expensive and time consuming (parts, paint) than just cutting holes and installing on the fog lights. So I'm assuming that no one has done it before?

Do you realize how bad this is going to look?

Before you go make your car look like this:

(yes, I know it looks like ***, but I didn't care too much to try. anyway, no ps for me. just ms paint. )

At least look into finding one of these bumpers first. (Jesus, I wonder how many Si fan bois are going to go out looking for these now... )

The stock '96-'98 USDM foglights are clear and round. You can even still buy them from Honda.

If you look at the poor paint edit of the white car I posted, you can see the bottoms of his round foglights in the grille.

I know yellow square foglights come from Japan, but I haven't yet confirmed where real clear square foglights come from.

After seeing an actual picture of 99-00 Fogs cut into a 96-98 Bumper. That looks terrible.

I didnt think it would be all that bad. but jebus.

I can't speak for the blue one, but the guy who owns the burgundy one said it was bought like that and is not two bumpers put together.

Notice on '96-'98 bumpers, the upper grille is longer and taller. The bottom of the headlights aren't even the same size and are in different locations in comparison with the '99-'00 headlights. '99-'00 headlights are longer along the bottom and I think they sit farther back towards the fenders too. The amount of space between the headlights and grille is less on the '99-'00 front than on the '96-'98 front.

So this would have to be a hybrid bumper.

I'm sure it's possible to cut two bumpers up and make one of these... but what a pain in the ***.

Remember how many people say they want the '99-'00 front just for the foglights.

^^^I've read about those bumpers before. Some say they were two bumpers put together and some say you can buy them in asia or somewhere. Just do a whole front conversion to be clean.

It's not that I don't like square lights or yellow lights it's that I don't like the placement of the fog lights for my year of car. Actually (and I know I'm going to get flamed for this) That first ms paint pic looked pretty good. not as good as the 99 lights but not "terrible".

I think it looks horrible. Like The Joker or something.

Your lighting is probably going to be horrible too since they won't point straight ahead since it will be on a rounded section of the bumper.
